Yep!! Whether you're selling books at a flea market table, or through a conversation with someone at a cocktail party, or on the internet, you are INFLUENCING someone to buy your book (or whatever thing you would like people to buy). And when you learn how to do it in a way that feels organic to you, none of it should ever feel ick. It's when we start performing and selling in weird ways that we've convinced ourself we need to that it gets twisted. I love that you wrote about this!

Yes! People will just post their thing like “here’s my thing, buy it!” And then ghost for 3 weeks and complain about hating social media LOL. I knew you’d get it, you’re the OG!

You’re one of the best examples of leaning into the cringe! And it’s working 🫶🏻💅

I really enjoyed this piece, nodded along at several points and then the subscribe caption made me burst out laughing 😂

I work with authors helping them promote their books, and it really doesn't matter who you are; you have to be the one pushing your products. The only real exception is that once you build a loyal following, they can do it for you, too.
